Since 1992, the Antolini brothers, Pier Paolo and Stefano, have lived and worked in Valpolicella, the famous wine region of Veneto where Valpolicella and the famous Amarone is produced. The Antolini Winery has vineyards in Merano, St. Pietro in Cariano and Negrar, three of the most important areas of the Valpolicella Appellation.
They work with passion, dedication, and a respect for the environment. Their wines are certified biologic. The wines literally come from the soils since they really take care to understand the differences between every Cru inside the estate. From the very first harvest to today, they strive to respect the old traditions of Valpolicella’s red wines. The training system that they have adopted is the traditional one in the area, namely the double pergola. There are many rows planted on the “marogne”, the characteristic dry stone walls that form wonderful terraces, where not infrequently, there are also olive and cherry trees.
Their philosophy is based on being passionate winegrowers that take care of the soils, the vines, and the grapes.
They use a natural, old-world, approach to farming the grapes, using multiple woods like Chestnut, Cherry, and Oak to age the wines, and using drying sheds to dry the grapes and concentrate the flavors using the tried and true Appassiemento method common for the region. From the single varietal Corvina, single vineyard Valpolicella Classico Superiore Persaga’, to the Cru Amarone Ca’ Coato, Antolini displays a classical style which is elegant and drinkable.
